StarterKits™ serum-free cell lines and media

StarterKits are research tools consisting of serum-free cell lines certified by the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC) and minimal culture media developed and manufactured by Cell Culture Technologies. The most important feature of the StarterKits is the total absence of complex additives and animal-derived components in all culture media used for maintenance and banking of the serum-free cells. StarterKits are the result of experimental investigations on continuous animal and human cell lines led by Rene Fischer, former senior group leader at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, and Dr. Ferruccio Messi, Cell Culture Technologies’ president and founder. The StarterKits project was kindly supported by the Swiss FFVFF foundation, a non-profit organisation supporting animal-free experimental research in life science.
