Extended batch cultivation of AP-expressing CHO cells by dual medium exchange in fully synthetic ChoMaster® minimal media.
Stephan Kaiser and colleagues of the Institute of Biotechnology at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Waedenswil, Switzerland, published a bioprocessing tutorial on the extended batch cultivation of CHO cells adapted to the fully synthetic minimal media developed by Cell Culture Technologies.
Serum-dependent AP-expressing CHO cells adapted to proliferation in such media were induced by dual medium exchange – growth medium replaced by production medium – and temperature shift in ChoMaster minimal media. The cells were grown to high cell density without feeding solutions within 7 days.
